CK5在正常的組織中可表達于鱗狀上皮和導管上皮的基底細胞以及部分的鱗狀上皮生發層細胞、肌上皮細胞和間皮細胞中，而絕大多數腺上皮細胞幾乎不表達。因此，可用于鱗癌和腺癌、間皮瘤和腺癌的研究。亦可用于乳腺、涎腺、前列腺上皮來源腫瘤良、惡性的研究。細胞角蛋白是細胞體的中間絲，是細胞結構的主要成分，根據其分子量和雙向二維電泳中等電點的不同可以分為20種不同類型，它能在正常上皮、腫瘤細胞、細胞培養中分化不同的上皮細胞表達。CYFRA21-1由細胞角蛋白19片段的兩個單克隆抗體組成，即單抗BMl9-21和KSl9.1，是一個分子量為4kD的酸性細胞蛋白。它主要分布于單層和復層上皮腫瘤細胞的胞漿內，當細胞死亡時，它以溶解片段的形式釋放入血清中。

In normal tissues, CK5 is expressed in squamous and ductal epithelial basal cells and in part of squamous epithelial cells, myoepithelial cells and mesothelial cells, while the vast majority of glandular epithelial cells are scarcely expressed. Therefore, can be used for squamous and adenocarcinoma, mesothelioma and adenocarcinoma research. Can also be used for breast, salivary gland, prostate epithelial tumors of benign and malignant studies. Cytokeratin is the intermediate filament of cell body and is the main component of cell structure. According to its molecular weight and the isoelectric point in two-dimensional two-dimensional electrophoresis, it can be divided into 20 different types.
