Mouse IL-1 beta ELISA Kit  INTRODUCTION
Monocytes are the main source of secreted IL-1. They express
predominantly IL-1 beta while human keratinocytes express large amounts of
IL-1 alpha. IL-1 is produced also by activated macrophages from different
sources （alveolar macrophages, Kupffer cells, adherent spleen and peritoneal
macrophages） and also by peripheral neutrophil granulocytes. IL-1apha and
IL-1 beta are biologically more or less equivalent pleiotropic factors that act
locally and also systemically. IL-1 beta is a potent immunomodulator, which
mediates a wide range of immune and inflammatory responses including the
activation of B and T cells.

Mouse IL-1 beta ELISA （Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay） kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of mouse IL-1 beta cell lysate and tissue lysate. This assay employs an antibody specific for mouse IL-1 beta coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IL-1 beta present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-mouse IL-1 beta antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRPconjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-1 beta bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, Mouse IL-1 beta ELISA Kit and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
